The Revolution of Change starts with the Individual. Our Society is a Product of our Interactions with it.
They were inspired by a simple thought – what they could contribute from who they were and where they were. That inspiration led to the creation of Generation for Societal Change as a registered Non-Governmental Organization in 2010.
The initial projects focused on working with students and youths in Bonny Island through workshops on values education which was integrated with the academic programs. In 2010, over 15 volunteers spread the activities across many cities in Nigeria including Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos with a vision
The idea for Generation for Societal Change was mooted in 2001 during a discussion about the social, political and economic issues in Nigeria. A group of young people decided to challenge themselves on contributing to the “solutions”
rather than spend a lifetime discussing the “problems” challenges plaguing Nigeria. This group of young people would later decide to challenge themselves to become part of the lasting solutions to these challenges, rather than spend a lifetime merely discussing these challenges or even contributing to them.
– To educate the youths to imbibe good moral values for societal growth.
– To educate the youths to promote peace and shun violence in the society.

– To educate the youths on their individual social responsibility to their society and the world at large (e.g., maintaining public facilities / infrastructures)
– To inspire the youths to prepare / position themselves for future leadership responsibilities in society.
– To educate the youths on the importance to shun examination mal-practice and take their education / skill
acquisition seriously in order to lay a strong foundation for their future and for societal growth.
– To encourage skill acquisition, self employment and economic independence among youths.
– To encourage professionalism and global outlook/attitude towards societal improvement and development among youths.
